About Legionella (Legionnaire's Disease)

Legionella is a bacterium which causes a type of pneumonia called Legionnaire's Disease. Several species of Legionella can cause disease in humans, but the most important one is Legionella pneumophilia. Legionella is commonly found in natural and man-made water systems (e.g. water storage systems, hot and cold water systems, cooling towers).

To maintain water quality in storage tanks and supply systems, and to prevent the build up of debris and other contaminents, it is vital that systems are regularly cleaned and inspected. With regular cleaning and water chlorination treatment, you are also compliant with the current health and safety legislation.
