 About Legionella (Legionnaire's Disease)
Legionella is a bacterium which causes a type of pneumonia called Legionnaire's Disease. Several species of Legionella can cause disease in humans, but the most important one is Legionella pneumophilia. Legionella is commonly found in natural and man-made water systems (e.g. water storage systems, hot and cold water systems, cooling towers).
